Plaza San Martin is a area of parkland located in the Microcentro area of Buenos Aires. The area surrounding Plaza San Martín has seen much activity over the years, from slave trading to bullfighting. Today, the park offers a place of relaxation amidst the hustle and bustle of downtown Buenos Aires. Within the Plaza is the impressive ‘Monumento al Libertador General San Martín,’ which depicts a heroic General San Martín riding valiantly on horseback. Additionally, the park contains a War Memorial dedicated to those who fell on the Argentine side during the military conflict in 1982.
Around Plaza San Martín, you'll find several places of interest, such as El Circlo Militar, El Palacio San Martín, and the Kavanagh Building. The Plaza is also close to the shopping mecca of Florida Street.

Plaza San Martín is a pleasant place to relax under the shade of its many trees, especially in hot weather. Opposite the Plaza San Martin is Torre de los Ingleses (The English Tower). This is worth a visit to get panoramic views from the top of the tower.
