About

The Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales, is the Natural Science Museum of Argentina. It exhibits some of Argentina's best collections of natural artifacts and fossils. The museum is located next to Parque Centenario within the neighborhood of Caballito. Its creation dates back to 1812 when President Bernardino Rivadavia asked the provinces of the nation to gather artifacts and materials for public exhibition. This initiative has grown into the museum we see today.

The current building has been home to the museum since 1937, with its initial collections composed of heterogeneous elements. However, in 1947, the Archeology, Ethnography, and Anthropology sections were transferred here.
